  • Amy Ellis

Amy Ellis received her Ph.D. from the joint program at the University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University. She also hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics. Prior to her appointment at the University of Georgia, Amy taught middle-school and high school mathematics in California, and then spent 12 years as a professor at the University of Wisconsin. In her current position Amy enjoys working with pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers at the 6-12 level and finding ways to make mathematics more engaging and playful. In her free time Amy enjoys cooking, running, and hiking the north Georgia mountains with her family.

  • Rob Ely

Rob Ely is a Professor in the University of Idaho’s Department of Mathematics and Statistical Science. He went to college at University of Northern Colorado, and his Ph.D. is from University of Wisconsin. He studies how students think about things like infinitesimals and integrals and likes playing the hammered dulcimer and singing folk songs.

  • Dru Horne

Dru Horne is a PhD candidate of mathematics education at the University of Georgia. Prior to starting his Ph.D., he taught high school mathematics for 3 years. His primary research interests are understanding how students think about mathematics especially related to combinatorics, functions, and bijections. When not engaged in research activities, he enjoys playing bridge, juggling, and spending time with his three cats!

  • Sohei Yasuda

Sohei Yasuda is a graduate student of mathematics education at the University of Georgia. He decided to pursue a PhD after teaching mathematics at Virginia Tech for 8 years. He is interested in how students conceptualize and reason about mathematical ideas, especially those pertinent to Calculus III such as surfaces. His favorite hobby is backgammon.

  • Samuel Brienen

Sam Brienen is a Ph.D. student in math education at the University of Idaho. His research interests are about the incorporation of geometry in calculus education. Outside of school, he enjoys hiking, board games, and catching up with friends.

  • Anna Bloodworth

Anna Bloodworth is a Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia.
